Researchers from England, Holland and Sweden have shown great interest in the experiment done by 5 girls from northern Jutland in 9th grade.

They did an experiment for a biology test, so brilliant, that it has attracted international attention among acknowledged biologists and radiation experts.

The girls got really surprised by the sudden attention from all around the world.

“It has been such a rollercoaster ride. I still cannot believe it”, says Lea Nielsen, one of the girls.

“It’s totally overwhelming and exciting. It’s just not something you experience every day”. added Mathilde Nielsen, another girl from the group.

It all started because they found it difficult to concentrate during the school day:

“We all think we have experienced difficulty concentrating in school, if we had slept with the phone next to our head, and sometimes also experienced having difficulty sleeping”, explains Lea Nielsen.

So here is what they did:

They took 400 cress seeds and placed them in 12 trays. Then, they placed 6 trays in 2 separate rooms at the same temperature. They gave the same amount of water and sun to all the trays for 12 days.

However, 6 of the trays were put next to two [Wi-Fi] routers. Such routers broadcast the same type of radiation as an ordinary mobile.

After 12 days what the result spoke was clear: cress seeds next to the router did not grow, and some of them were even mutated or dead.



“It is truly frightening that there is so much affect, so we were very shocked by the result”, says Lea.

Olle Johansson, a renowned professor at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, is one of the impressed researchers.

He will now repeat the experiment with a Belgian research colleague, Professor Marie-Claire Cammaert at the Université libre de Bruxelles.

According to him, this is absolutely brilliant:

“The girls stayed within the scope of their knowledge, skilfully implemented and developed a very elegant experiment. The wealth of detail and accuracy is exemplary, choosing cress was very intelligent, and I could go on”, he says.

He is not slow to send them an invitation to go on the road:

“I sincerely hope that they spend their future professional life in researching, because I definitely think they have a natural aptitude for it. Personally, I would love to see these people in my team!”


But the experiment proved something really huge. Something the majority of the world does without knowing the consequences.

“None of us sleep with the mobile next to the bed anymore. Either the phone is put far away, or it is put in another room. And the computer is always off”, says Lea.

If your bed is close to a WiFi Router we strongly advise to change the bed’s or the router’s location. And when it is time to sleep, leave the technology where its place is.

Working with wildlife is both risky and rewarding. It can be a difficult job to capture the best pictures of these animals, as well as tiring. One man never expected this would happen when he decided to lie in the grass for a nap.

Dolph Volker is a volunteer at the Cheetah Experience in South Africa, where the population of these big cats are being preserved. They can be extremely shy creatures who don’t take very well to human interruption in their daily lives. But Dolph has been working for months to gain the confidence of these animals, and all of his hard work has paid off.

Do you have a pet? Well then you might know that sometimes they press their head against the wall to show you that they’re guilty of eating food from the fridge, but if this head pressing is very common, they require medical attention.

Depending on the frequency of head pressing and the amount of time your pet spends doing it, treatment will vary. So it’s always best that you get them medical attention at the earliest possible because sometimes it may require hospitalization while other times it may require a different kind of treatment.



Finally remember that pets can’t speak your language and when you adopt them you promise to provide the best for them so its really up to you to decode these signals. This adorable creature is it Ili Pika, which is one of the most endangered and rare animals in the world. The following pictures are the first that have been taken of this elusive mountain dweller in nearly 20 years. The Ili Pika was discovered by Li Weidong in 1983 in the Tianshan mountains located in northwestern China.


The species is officially known as Ochotona iliensis and was named after Li’s hometown, Ili. Li, a conservationist, is also the person who captured these images on July 9, 2014. Scientists do not know much about the Ili Pika, but it is believed to be related to rabbits.


According to Li, the population of Ili Pika’s has fallen drastically (about 70%) since he first discovered them. In an interview with CNN, Li said that he would feel very guilty if this creature went extinct right in front of him. Li retired early so he can spend more time studying the Ili Pika.


With the help of some volunteers, they have estimated that the population of Ili Pika’s is less than 1,000. Li and his crew have started to refer to the animals as the “magic rabbit.” Sadly, there is nothing magical about them becoming extinct. It is believed that global warming and air pollution has contributed to their decline.


Currently, no official organization conducts research or protects the Ili Pika. Li hopes that other people take over his efforts when he is no longer able to climb the mountains to study and protect this precious animal. Share away, people!

Malissa Sergent Lewis was running late to work. To make it quickly to the elementary school where she works, she took a shortcut through the quiet, remote backroads of Kentucky.

It was then and there that she made a startling discovery, and one that changed the course of her life.

The mother of three spotted a black trash bag in the middle of the street. Even from a distance, she could tell the bag was moving and shifting. There was definitely something inside.

The closer she got, the more it seemed like whatever was in that bag was trying to walk its way across the road. Malissa pulled out her cellphone as she slowly drove up to the bag.

The creature inside could sense Malissa’s presence, and started walking over towards her on the concrete as best it could.

It didn’t matter that it could have been a dangerous animal — Malissa tore into the bag anyway, disregarding the knot tied tightly at the top.

But when Malissa peeked inside, she couldn’t believe her eyes…

On the morning of August 25, 2016, Malissa Sergent Lewis decided to take the backroads to work at her elementary school in Kentucky.

She never expected to make such a shocking discovery.

Malissa spotted a trash bag in the middle of the road. “The closer I got, I realized it was moving”.

She pulled out her cellphone to hit record. Whatever it was, she decided right then and there that she was going to get it out.

Sensing someone was close, the creature inside the bag started eagerly walking its way toward Malissa as she hopped out of her car to inspect.

It could have easily been an angry possum or some other dangerous animal, but that didn’t stop her from tearing into the bag and peeking inside…

…And there was a puppy. An adorable, grateful and incredibly lucky puppy.

As soon as he saw Malissa’s face, he began wagging his tail. Malissa says it was if he knew he was going to be okay.

Malissa took to Facebook to post her shocking video, along with a message: “If this is your puppy, let me know. If you are the scoundrel who put it in a garbage bag and tossed it on the side of the road…..you’re a sicko”

The puppy was wearing a collar, but had no identification. Malissa scooped him up and took him to work with her.

That evening, Malissa and her sons took the puppy to the vet for shots and an examination. Miraculously, he was healthy!

The vet said he couldn’t be more than 8 weeks old. It’s a complete mystery as to why this happened… and why someone would do this.

Animal Control and the Sheriff’s Department are looking into who could have possibly committed this horrible act.

Meanwhile, Malissa and her sons have decided to keep the puppy. She says her sons are absolutely in love with him.

Fittingly, they’ve named him Hefty.

“He is playful,” Malissa told LittleThings. “We were just talking about how resilient he was. He romps around playing with his new toys. He’s good natured. Even the day that I brought him into the school where I work the day I found him, he was precious. The guidance counselor, Mrs. Kelly is a big animal lover, she took the pup to visit second grade and the kids loved him.”

Other people might not have given the trash bag a second glance. Or they might have just ignored it and continued on their way.

While on a hike a man named Casey Anderson met a grizzly bear cub and from that day forward his life was changed forever. About six years ago he stumbled across little Brutus the bear cub all alone without a mom.

With out really thinking he took him into his arms, and that’s when their friendship began. And now six years later now have an unbreakable bond and they have a incredibly unique story that has inspired so many others. He raised the bear cub in his own home and when the day Brutus became too large to stay, he went out of his way to build a Montana Grizzly Encounter Rescue and Educational Sanctuary for Brutus. It is now a place where people can come and learn about bears and wildlife. Casey’s daring bear cub rescue was returned with the most amazing friendship that has brought so much happiness.

The Huffington Post on Friday reported on a new study out of The University of Alberta that shows that drinking a glass of red wine may have the same effect on the body as an hour at the gym.


A component in the wine, resveratrol, was seen to improve physical performance, heart function and muscle strength similar to the effect exercise has on the body.

Principal investigator Jason Dyck said, "We were excited when we saw that resveratrol showed results similar to what you would see from extensive endurance exercise training. I think resveratrol could help patient populations who want to exercise but are physically incapable. Resveratrol could mimic exercise for them or improve the benefits of the modest amount of exercise that they can do."

Discussion over the health benefits of red wine has been well documented. Previous studies have revealed that those who drink a glass of red wine a day are less likely to develop dementia or cancer, that it's good for anti-ageing, and can regulate blood sugar.

This is not a hoax, folks. Scientists out of the University of Exeter believe that smelling farts actually prevents cancer, among other diseases.


"Although hydrogen sulfide gas"—produced when bacteria breaks down food—"is well known as a pungent, foul-smelling gas in rotten eggs and flatulence, it is naturally produced in the body and could in fact be a healthcare hero with significant implications for future therapies for a variety of diseases," Dr. Mark Wood said in a university release.

Although the stinky gas can be noxious in large doses, scientists believe that a whiff here and there has the power to reduce risks of cancer, strokes, heart attacks, arthritis, and dementia by preserving mitochondria.

Researchers are even coming up with their own compound to emulate the smell's health benefits.

"We have exploited this natural process by making a compound, called AP39, which slowly delivers very small amounts of this gas specifically to the mitochondria," Professor Matt Whiteman, of the University of Exeter Medical School said. "Our results indicate that if stressed cells are treated with AP39, mitochondria are protected and cells stay alive."

So instead of getting upset the next time you catch a whiff... be thankful.

Joey here is a West Highland terrier and he did something not many of his breed have done before, he mated with a Rottweiler to create adorable little 'Wotties' puppies. (I assume the little guy used a ladder...oh and don't worry OSHA, I'm sure he wore a hard hat and a harness.) Teresa Patterson from Yorkshire in the UK (owner of both Joey and Zara the Rottweiler) was surprised they had mated and said she was unaware it had taken place until the puppies were born.

I was completely shocked, I didn't think nature would let this happen but at some point it did. The puppies have a lovely temperament like their parents. They are high maintenance as they want attention all the time. One of the puppies, Sparkie, which our son is having, follows me everywhere I go. But this won't happen again - Joey will be going to the vets soon.

Check out the unique fort-building skills of the veined octopus. Known for unusual behavior like bipedal walking (and its shameless shell theft), this is definitely not your average cephalopod!

This cute, shy octopus gathers up shells from the ocean floor so that he can build a safe hiding place from predators — and, you know…curious cameramen. His kleptomaniac tendencies have landed him the nickname, “Kleptopus.” What a little thief!

Octopus dens are usually under a rock or in a crevice, and the animal has even been observed taking up residence inside of an old, discarded bottle on the sea floor. Or stolen shells.


What an awesome creature! The world underwater never ceases to amaze me...

I know I’ve said this before, but I think that spiders are one of the most fascinating creatures on the entire planet. These eight-legged arachnids might scare the wits out of many people, but they’re actually quite docile, provide a great service to humanity by devouring many of our most annoying bugs, and are incredibly smart. Next time you think it might be a good idea to try to capture one, remember that they probably have the upper hand.

Jumping spiders, in particular, are some of the world’s most beautiful, agile, and absolutely adorable arachnids. They are usually incredibly tiny (I’m talking can-fit-on-your-fingernail tiny) and, instead of spinning webs to catch insects, these little guys actually capture bugs to eat by jumping on them. It’s their ornate colors and the mesmerizing configuration of their eyes, however, that makes them so breathtaking. If you know what a jumping spider looks like, the entire species seems to become instantly recognizable.

There are still, though, some exceptions to the rule and some specific jumping spiders that just blow all the others out of the water by being so colorful and unique that seeing them is something so amazing that you’ll never forget it. The peacock spider, like the one in the below video, is one such spider.

Set to music, the video shows the beautiful peacock spider doing what appears to be a mating ritual where it raises its third set of legs in the air along with its back, which is, like its namesake animal the peacock, very brightly colored.

Not only is this a really cool thing to watch because so few peacock spiders have been filmed in the wild, but it’s also really hypnotic to see the leg movements and peacock-like hind quarters bouncing around in what looks like some type of ritualistic dance.

If something like this video doesn’t give you a whole new appreciation of spiders, I’m not sure what will. It’s just so cool!

It was a normal day for the builders tasked with some routine ground work near London’s Canary Wharf. They had left a couple of ground holes open, so when they heard the cries of a young animal, they knew where to look. Lo and behold, they peeked into one of the deep, muddy holes and found a small helpless animal. They had no idea it was a four-month-old fox cub caked in mud and horribly petrified.

The fox had been trapped with no chance of escape, covered in thick layers of dried mud from head to toe. The builders rescued him, and then it was off to South Essex Wildlife Hospital. There, his saviors nursed him with food, water and a much-needed bath. He was christened ‘Muddsey.’ Whereas before Muddsey was hardly recognizable as a living creature under all that sludge, let alone a fox, to see his adorable face shine through after a good cleaning is simply amazing.

The staff said, “None of us knew how long he had been down that hole — it could have been all weekend.”

The young cub was completely caked in sludge and barely recognizable as a living creature. He needed immediate care, as it was unclear how long he'd been trapped down in the hole.
Hospital workers attended to the cub. They washed the dirt and mud off his coat, and it didn't take long to see how adorable he was under all that soot!
The hospital named him 'Muddsey,' which is quite fitting if you ask me. This brave little fox is now happy, healthy and safe at last.

In 1963, a man in the Nevşehir Province of Turkey knocked down a wall of his home. Behind it, he discovered a mysterious room and soon discovered an intricate tunnel system with additional cave-like rooms. What he had discovered was the ancient Derinkuyu underground city in Turkey.


The elaborate subterranean network included discrete entrances, ventilation shafts, wells, and connecting passageways. It was one of dozens of underground cities carved from the rock in Cappadocia thousands of years ago. It remained hidden for centuries.


The underground city at Derinkuyu is neither the largest nor oldest, but its 18 stories make it the deepest.

The city was most likely used as a giant bunker to protect its inhabitants from either war or natural disaster.


It had access to fresh flowing water -- the wells were not connected with the surface to prevent poisoning by crafty land dwellers. It also has individual quarters, shops, communal rooms, tombs, arsenals, livestock, and escape routes. There's even a school, complete with a study room.
