Researchers from England, Holland and Sweden have shown great interest in the experiment done by 5 girls from northern Jutland in 9th grade.

They did an experiment for a biology test, so brilliant, that it has attracted international attention among acknowledged biologists and radiation experts.

The girls got really surprised by the sudden attention from all around the world.

“It has been such a rollercoaster ride. I still cannot believe it”, says Lea Nielsen, one of the girls.

“It’s totally overwhelming and exciting. It’s just not something you experience every day”. added Mathilde Nielsen, another girl from the group.

It all started because they found it difficult to concentrate during the school day:

“We all think we have experienced difficulty concentrating in school, if we had slept with the phone next to our head, and sometimes also experienced having difficulty sleeping”, explains Lea Nielsen.

So here is what they did:

They took 400 cress seeds and placed them in 12 trays. Then, they placed 6 trays in 2 separate rooms at the same temperature. They gave the same amount of water and sun to all the trays for 12 days.

However, 6 of the trays were put next to two [Wi-Fi] routers. Such routers broadcast the same type of radiation as an ordinary mobile.

After 12 days what the result spoke was clear: cress seeds next to the router did not grow, and some of them were even mutated or dead.

“It is truly frightening that there is so much affect, so we were very shocked by the result”, says Lea.

Olle Johansson, a renowned professor at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, is one of the impressed researchers.

He will now repeat the experiment with a Belgian research colleague, Professor Marie-Claire Cammaert at the Université libre de Bruxelles.

According to him, this is absolutely brilliant:

“The girls stayed within the scope of their knowledge, skilfully implemented and developed a very elegant experiment. The wealth of detail and accuracy is exemplary, choosing cress was very intelligent, and I could go on”, he says.

He is not slow to send them an invitation to go on the road:

“I sincerely hope that they spend their future professional life in researching, because I definitely think they have a natural aptitude for it. Personally, I would love to see these people in my team!”

But the experiment proved something really huge. Something the majority of the world does without knowing the consequences.

“None of us sleep with the mobile next to the bed anymore. Either the phone is put far away, or it is put in another room. And the computer is always off”, says Lea.

If your bed is close to a WiFi Router we strongly advise to change the bed’s or the router’s location. And when it is time to sleep, leave the technology where its place is.

You may not see this very often, but eggs really deserve to be called “superfoods.” Nutritionists say that egg s are incredibly nutritious.

Add more eggs to your menu. These are loaded with nutrients, and most of them aren’t contained in the American diet. Eggs are rich in proteins, amino acids, iron and antioxidants. They are great for athletes and individuals who try to gain muscle. Do not divide the egg, and eat both the yolk and the white. Egg yolks contain fat-fighting nutrients called choline. This is what you need in your fight against excess pounds.

Always look for organic eggs, since they don’t contain antibiotics, hormones, and vaccines. The quality of organic eggs is regulated by the USDA.

Dr. Molly Morgan, RD, a board certified sports specialist dietician, found that eggs have different color, and it depends on the type of the chicken. The nutritional value is the same.

Eggs are one of the healthiest foods on Earth, so try to eat them more often. We give you 12 reasons to do that:

Eggs will save youHuman body produces eleven amino acids, and it needs nine more to function properly. Eggs can give you the remaining nine acids. The lack of these fatty acids causes muscle wasting, weak immunity, weakness, fatigue, and weak hair and skin.

Regulate cholesterolCholesterol can cause many problems. There are two type of cholesterol, bad and good. Eggs are packed with healthy portions.

Immunity boostEat an egg or two every day to fight infections, diseases and viruses. Eggs contain 22% of your recommended daily intake of selenium. This nutrient strengthens immunity, and regulates thyroid hormones.

Children should eat eggs as well. Selenium deficiency may lead to the development of Keshan disease and kashin-Beck disease. This applies to both children and adults.

Reduce the risk of heart problemsLDL or bad cholesterol molecules tend to attach on artery walls, leading to atherosclerosis.

HDL particles discard fatty molecules from the arteries. There are many kinds of LDL particles, and these are all different in size.

Researchers have confirmed that the bigger the particle, the better. People with small LDL particles run at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular issues when compared to individuals who have large particles.

Eggs can increase LDL particles, and thus reduce the risk of heart disease.

Stimulate brainCholine in eggs gives your body nutritive value and power. It’s also consisted in cell membranes. Choline is also needed in the synthesis of acetylcholine.

Over 90% of all Americans eat less than the recommended daily amount of the neurotransmitter. Numerous studies have shown that the lack of choline causes neurological disorders and impaired cognitive ability.

Eggs strengthen teeth and bonesEggs are one of the rare natural sources of vitamin D which makes them beneficial for our skin and teeth. Eggs improve the absorption of calcium, and this is great for the function of your heart, colon and metabolism.

Eggs improve skin complexion and hairYou can’t expect that your hair and skin will look great if you aren’t healthy. Eggs contain vitamins B2, B5, and B12. These B vitamins in eggs strengthen your hair, skin and eyes. These improve the function of your liver and brain, too.

Improve visionEgg yolks contain lutein and zeaxanthin. This reduces the risk of age-related macular degeneration and cataracts, the two major reasons for blindness and vision impairment.

According to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, regular consumption of egg yolks increases zeaxanthin levels by 114-142%. Lutein levels are increased by 28-50%.

Lose weightIf you’re trying to lose weight, eggs are the real deal for you. Eggs can help you melt fat and lose excess pounds.

An eight-week study showed people who eat eggs for breakfast lose 65% more weight than these who don’t. You will also lose 16% more body fat, reduce 61% of BMI, and 34% of your waist circumference.

Feel fullEggs are rich in protein. Some experts use them as a measure for protein. Studies have shown that high-protein foods affect appetite. The satiety Index estimates the effect of foods on your fullness, and eggs are somewhere in the top.

Reduce stress and anxietyWe already wrote about the nine amino acids found in eggs. These amino acids can also affect your mental health. A 2004 study by the National Academy of Sciences showed that you can reduce anxiety and stress by adjusting serotonin levels in the nervous system.

Eggs boost energyVitamin B2 or riboflavin and other B vitamins are good for your energy, since they convert the food you eat in fuel. One egg contains 15% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin B2. Eggs not only boost your energy, but also tone your body. Eggs belong to the group of 25 powerful body-toning foods.

Cycling is one of the most eco-friendly ways to travel, and thanks to this solar-powered bike lane that glows in the dark, it just got even moreso.

The luminous blue cycling strip, which can be found near Lidzbark Warminski in the north of Poland, was created by TPA Instytut Badań Technicznych Sp. z o.o. It’s made from a synthetic material that can give out light for up to ten hours at a time once charged by the sun throughout the day. Although the concept was inspired by Studio Roosegaarde’s Starry Night bike lane in the Netherlands, the technology is quite different as the Dutch version uses LEDs whereas this one is entirely dependent upon solar power. It’s still in the testing phase at the moment, but let’s hope that this bright idea will be implemented in other countries in the very near future.

We love us some good life hacks, and this video combines a variety of awesome hacks with the one household chore we dislike the most: cleaning the bathroom. In this brand new video, the Household Hacker will teach you seven useful life hacks to quickly clean your bathroom, leaving it looking shiny and new. Many common household items can be used to clean up even the worst messes and stains.

Personally, I prefer cleaning with natural products — but organic cleaning products can be downright expensive. Vinegar is a great alternative to store-bought cleaning products, which are often full of potentially harmful chemicals. I’ve known that white vinegar is great for cleaning toilets, but I never thought of pouring it into the toilet tank for maximum effectiveness. This is a great way to remove mold and bacteria, which will help prevent any erosion to the necessary parts inside the tank. Other tricks include using tea bags to clean mirrors and ensuring your toothbrush holder never collects gunk or grime again, thanks to your trusty dishwasher.

Wherever James Isaac goes, Mahe follows – even into the boy's hospital bed.

The 9-year-old is autistic and relies on the black labrador to keep him safe and calm. James does not speak and flinches from human touch and eye contact, but with Mahe things are different. He will curl up happily with Mahe.

When James had to go to the hospital for an MRI to help diagnose his seizures, his mother was worried how the experience would go, but was relieved that Mahe was allowed to accompany James on the visit.

As James went under general anaesthetic, Mahe watched with concern.

Life for the Isaac family has improve immensely since Mahe came into their lives, two years ago.

Mahe's presence not only calms James, but keeps him safe. Out and about, he is attached to Mahe on a tether. If he strays too far, or starts running towards a busy road, Mahe sits down and won't budge.

"There is such a magic that happens between a child with autism and the dogs, they just calm the kids down," said Wendy Isaacs of The Assistance Dogs New Zealand Trust, who trained Mahe for six months. "The kids will maintain eye contact with the dog, but often not with their own parents and siblings."

She added that if James' seizures persisted, Mahe will be trained to pick up on early warning signs and whine or bark to alert his parents.

This dog heads straight to the elevator and starts…

There’s really no mystery as to how dogs earned their reputation as “man’s best friend.” But below is a great example of how!

This is a story of a dog named Nala that can be found at the retirement home. Nala is a five-year-old teacup poodle helping to cheer up the seniors at the Lyngblomsten care center in St. Paul, MN.

Pet owner is Doug Dawson he is a medications assistant at the nursing home, and he also brings Nala everyday to work. He says he doesn’t see her until the end of the day. When they stroll through the front entryway, the puppy goes to the elevator and starts to make her rounds as the center’s unofficial angel.

Nala has no formal training as a therapy pet, but instinctively knows to check on the elderly residents and appears to love sitting on their laps and cuddling close to them.

Many of the residents believe this dog is is a blessing from above and after seeing this video, I think you’ll concur.

Germany has opened the first three-mile stretch of a bicycle highway that will eventually span over 62 miles, connecting 10 western cities including Duisburg, Bochum, and Hamm, as well as four universities.

And this highway is an entirely separate roadway that will remain completely car-free.

Credit: Juergen Faelchle

Like a traditional highway, this bicycle highway has passing lanes, overpasses and underpasses for crossroads, and even streetlights. However, cyclists won't have to worry about trucks zooming by or bus lanes. It's just a clear path for miles and miles.

In a study completed by regional development group RVR, it's projected to take 50,000 cars off the road each day.

The Huffington Post on Friday reported on a new study out of The University of Alberta that shows that drinking a glass of red wine may have the same effect on the body as an hour at the gym.

A component in the wine, resveratrol, was seen to improve physical performance, heart function and muscle strength similar to the effect exercise has on the body.

Principal investigator Jason Dyck said, "We were excited when we saw that resveratrol showed results similar to what you would see from extensive endurance exercise training. I think resveratrol could help patient populations who want to exercise but are physically incapable. Resveratrol could mimic exercise for them or improve the benefits of the modest amount of exercise that they can do."

Discussion over the health benefits of red wine has been well documented. Previous studies have revealed that those who drink a glass of red wine a day are less likely to develop dementia or cancer, that it's good for anti-ageing, and can regulate blood sugar.

They say that dog is “man’s best friend” but that’s not a sentiment that’s shared by all other animals. From monkeys to horses, we’ve all seen more than a few YouTube clips of various animals getting very chummy with humans. But here’s a very unusual one… the boy in this video has developed a special bond with a stingray!

Stingrays are typically not aggressive but they’ve earned their name by having a poisonous stinger which they use when they feel their lives are being threatened. These guys like to hang out in shallow waters so make sure you don’t step on them! You wouldn’t step on your friends would you?

Caleb Howard was just 6 years old when a head-on car collision left him with broken bones and a traumatic brain injury. His heartbroken parents weren’t sure how quickly he’d be able to recover — or if he’d make it at all — as much of Caleb’s progress was nearly impossible to recognize.

One day, it was suggested that a dog named Colonel step in and act as Caleb’s therapy animal. His parents were desperate for a solution, so they obliged. The video below follows Caleb and Colonel’s journey together. You’ll see an immediate boost in Caleb’s awareness, and how this relationship marked a turning point for Caleb’s family in their belief in his ability to recover.

This is not a hoax, folks. Scientists out of the University of Exeter believe that smelling farts actually prevents cancer, among other diseases.

"Although hydrogen sulfide gas"—produced when bacteria breaks down food—"is well known as a pungent, foul-smelling gas in rotten eggs and flatulence, it is naturally produced in the body and could in fact be a healthcare hero with significant implications for future therapies for a variety of diseases," Dr. Mark Wood said in a university release.

Although the stinky gas can be noxious in large doses, scientists believe that a whiff here and there has the power to reduce risks of cancer, strokes, heart attacks, arthritis, and dementia by preserving mitochondria.

Researchers are even coming up with their own compound to emulate the smell's health benefits.

"We have exploited this natural process by making a compound, called AP39, which slowly delivers very small amounts of this gas specifically to the mitochondria," Professor Matt Whiteman, of the University of Exeter Medical School said. "Our results indicate that if stressed cells are treated with AP39, mitochondria are protected and cells stay alive."

So instead of getting upset the next time you catch a whiff... be thankful.

Probably many people know the dangers of smoking, but are not quitting this habit, because they choose more to enjoy in cigarettes, rather than worry about their health. And maybe more often they do not want to know the real truth about smoking as a cause of serious diseases. If you do not care in long term period, make sure about your close future. See what positive changes will happen if you stop smoking. Then stop and see for yourself.

• In 20 minutes your blood pressure will come down to normal.
• In 8 hours the level of carbon monoxide (a poisonous gas) in your bloodstream will be cut by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal.
• In 48 hours the chances to get a heart attack will decrease. The whole nicotine will leave your body and feelings of smell and taste will return to normal levels.
• In 72 hours, your breathing paths will relax and the energy level will increase.
• In two weeks blood circulation will increase and will continue to improve over the next 10 weeks.
• In 3-9 months, coughing, difficult breathing and general respiratory problems will decrease as a result of increasing the capacity of your lungs by 10%.
• In 1 year the risk of suffering a heart attack will decrease doubly.
• The 5-year risk of getting a stroke will become the same as for non-smokers.
• In 10 years the chance of developing lung cancer becomes the same as for non-smokers.
• In 15 years you will have an equal risk of suffering a heart attack as well as any non-smoker.

Did you know that the nutritional properties of bananas change as they ripen? Have you noticed that the taste of the bananas changes as they ripen, it gets sweeter? This happens because of the enzymes contained in the bananas are progressively breaking down the starch (a long polymeric form of sugar that doesn’t taste sweet) turning it into simple sugars (disaccharides or monosaccharides which taste sweet). When the banana ripens that means that the starch has already turned into simple sugar and it is easier to digest. Although according to researches, the quantities of vitamins and minerals reduces as the banana ripens. That is why it should be stored in a refrigerator.

Japanese researchers discovered a very interesting fact about bananas. According to them as the banana ripens it produces more antioxidants and more anticancer properties. When the banana is fully riped with dark spots on the yellow skin it produces a substance called TNF (Tumor Necrosis Factor), a substance that can combat abnormal cells. The research also shows that the more darker spots it has the better the anti-cancer properties are. Moreover, a banana with yellow skin and dark spots is eight times more effective in boosting body’s immune system than the green skin banana.

Therefore, the best time to eat the banana is when it’s fully ripen. But if you suffer from type 2 diabetes or you want to avoid a fast increase of your blood sugar levels, you might want to consider eating a riped banana with nut butter – because the fat slows down the sugar absorption into your blood stream. Or you can consume the banana while it’s still green. (level 3 or 4 in the pic)

Canning jars are built to withstand a tremendous amount of heat. In addition to being boiled for canning jams and pickles, did you know they can also be baked in the oven as adorable, portable cakes in a jar? Yep! And I just LOVE this idea!

CHOW says, “Start with two-and-one-half cups of fresh seasonal fruit. Put those into four half-pint canning jars. Combine one half-cup of flour, one half-cup of sugar and one half-teaspoon salt. Whisk it together with a fork and pour it on the fruit, and then top with butter. Once your jars are filled, move them to a square baking dish. Fill the inside of the baking dish with some dried beans to keep the jars from sliding around. Bake it at 350 for one hour. After baking, let the jars cool completely. I like to put a little whipped cream on top and, if you like, you can keep them in the fridge for up to a week. They make a great gift, and they are awesome for a picnic.”

Yum! Easy, cheap and delicious. I can’t wait to try.

Scientists from the University of Oxford have discovered that women with larger than average butts are not only increasingly intelligent but also very resistant to chronic illnesses.

According to ABC News, the results found that women with bigger backsides tend to have lower levels of cholesterol and are more likely to produce hormones to metabolize sugar. Therefore, women with big butts are less likely to have diabetes or heart problems.

And having a big butt requires an excess of Omega 3 fats, which have been proven to catalyze brain development. The researchers also found that the children born to women with wider hips are intellectually superior to the children of slimmer, less curvy mothers.

Eyeonthenut reports that the team analyzed data from 16,000 women.

“Professor Konstantinos Manolopoulos, who leads the team at the University of Oxford, says that women with more fat on the buttocks have lower levels of cholesterol and glucose.”

Having a big butt also favors leptin levels in the female body, which is a hormone responsible for regulating the weight, and the dinopectina, a hormone with anti-inflammatory, vascular-protective and anti-diabetic attributes.

The adipose tissue of the buttocks traps harmful fatty particles and prevents cardiovascular disease.

Eyeonthenut also cites similar studies conducted by universities in California and Pittsburgh not too long ago that discovered that women with bigger butts, wide hips and smaller waists may even live longer as well.

This study did not include fake butts.
